8 of 8 people found the following review helpful Hidden gem of a car bluetooth speakerphone kit found ??, December 19, 2011 By Dean! (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews This review is from: SuperTooth HD Bluetooth Speakerphone Car Kit with Voice to Text and e-Mail (Electronics) SUMMARY:
=========
[I am using the Supertooth HD with a Samsung Focus running Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango)]
If you search my reviews, I bought and returned the Supertooth Buddy (the little brother version of this). So far, the Supertooth HD has not exhibited any of the annoyances of its little brother. Currently, this is a 5-star device and I will update my review as needed.
What makes the perfect car bluetooth speakerphone?
==============My 14 Most Important Criteria Items============
1. It should have caller-id that speaks the name of the caller
2. It should automatically turn on/off as you are away from the car
3. It should have ample volume while driving at highway speeds
4. You should only have to press a single and easily accessible button to answer or place a call
5. It should make use of your phone's built-in voice recognition system (if your phone has this)
6. It should be easy to pair and auto-download your... Read more
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Solid product, but not as magic as I hoped, July 19, 2011 By This review is from: SuperTooth HD Bluetooth Speakerphone Car Kit with Voice to Text and e-Mail (Electronics) Good:
- Pairs with 2 devices as the same time.
- Does bluetooth audio for playing music from iPad Touch
- pairing was reasonably easy
- Sound quality similar to built-in units
Bad:
- Address book migration did not work with Nokia E65 or iPhone4, but did work with Nokia 6xxx phone. Contact by contact syncing is good.
- Voice recognition features only work if you have a 3G phone connected (Euorpeans watch out for data roaming)
Conclusion:
- Solid handsfree with good sound and easy to use. Advanced features are a bit unpolished and sometimes difficult to use.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful works great, December 20, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: SuperTooth HD Bluetooth Speakerphone Car Kit with Voice to Text and e-Mail (Electronics) Ok, this is a great bluetooth speakerphone. I use it with my iphone 4s. Compared to the previous edition (Blueant Supertooth 3 or whatever), the main difference is the voice commands (which I find useless), the much faster and more responsive bluetooth (1000+ phonebook transfer took less than a minute, on the old one it took like half an hour), better battery (the old one was already great), and much louder than the previous one. In fact, it is hugely loud -- unless you have a convertible it is not plausible it won't be loud enough even if you have hearing problems.
Minor nuisances:
The iphone can treat it like a speaker and it will if you use itunes. It will default to the two jacks if connected, but it is easy to accidentally get switched to the bluetooth. It's not a great music speaker if that wasn't obvious, in fact, this feature is annoying.
The iphone won't default to it as the audio source if you press "take call" (or whatever) on the phone itself... Read more
