My iPad feels comfortable in hand when the cover is folded back. It does the job but doesn't always stay closed when not in use. I use the little corner straps to keep the cover closed but I'm sure they will wear out quickly. If you can keep the cover closed, the sleep function works on the new iPad. iPad feels secure and the corners are covered. Given the options currently available at this price point, I would purchase this product again.
