Great Car Stereo!!, May 30, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: JVC 2-DIN Bluetooth Dual USB-CD Rec HD (Electronics) I installed this JVC KWHDR81BT in my SUV two months ago and have been very pleased with this stereo system. I cannot speak about installation because I had the unit professionally installed into my vehicle nor can I critique power output because I also added a 75 watt X 4 power amplifier to drive my aftermarket speakers. After some basic research I determined JVC was offering the features/options I wanted (to try) in a new headunit for a decent price:
- Built-in HD Radio
- Bluetooth
- front USB port
- playback of CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RW loaded with MP3 and WMA files
- external microphone included

I did not care about the multicolor display but figured it would be able to "blend" in with my gold-toned interior dash lighting; which it does almost perfectly! Radio's sound is really excellent when playing USB or AUX. HD radio is ok but nothing to write home about.
CD is ok as well. I do not use, and have not yet tried, any other options.
Really like the color change option as I could match the C4 button color exactly.
Wish they had not extended the power antenna in any mode other than radio.
Notes to other C4 owners. This double din radio will fit the existing Bose radio slot with no modifications to the back support. It also fills in the face place trim area very well. I left all the Bose wiring in place and completely re-wired for for speakers in the front and back (6x9 in back and 5x7 in front). You can take all power, antenna and ground connections from the storage area behind the passenger seat (where the Bose receiver/amp unit was). You only need to tap the illumination wire from the radio head harness. The front and rear... Read more

The main reason for my want to change is that my stock did not have an AUX or USB input and I wanted to get the most out of my Andriod phone and MP3 player. The ease of the install might be due to the Toyota model itself...I had the new one installed in less than 1 hour. I also purchased a wiring harness and mounting kit. I ended up using the stock brackets since they were metal and the mouting kit was all plastic. I did use the face on the mounting kit to fill the void left by the new unit. The sound is fantstic and you can really customize the sound. It has great base, even through the stock speakers. You can customize the color of the unit as well so you can get it to look any way you want. The only downside to it is that it's programmed for Apple products and I have an Andriod phone and Sansa MP3 player. However, the Bluetooth connection for the phone sounds like it is... Read more
