3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Great speakers !!!!, September 15, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Boston Acoustics SR65 - Car speaker - 75 Watt - 2-way - coaxial - 6.5" (Electronics) These are great speakers. They are build for the person who wants clean, smooth sound. They will rock. Good mid-bass response, if properly mounted. The mids and highs are excellent, extremely smooth. I run them with 75 watts/channel from an Audiobahn amp. They work great with subs. At extremely high volumes they will lose some of their luster, but all speakers do - some just hide it better. If you want your car to scream & screech (example pioneer) with its bass thump - do not buy these speakers. But if you know what quality sounds like - you will love them.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Just fillers for my Boston Pro60SE, April 24, 2011 By This review is from: Boston Acoustics SR65 - Car speaker - 75 Watt - 2-way - coaxial - 6.5" (Electronics) I've always been a Boston guy at heart and upgrading from my ancient but rarely used RM6's proved to be a wise choice. I'm running an Alpine iDA-X305s, Boston Pro 60SE's as fronts, Boston SR65's for rears, Pioneer 10" TS-SW2501S4, and Alpine PDX-5 amp and love that "Boston" sound.
As mentioned in my title. These are my fillers for the rear but serve importance to staging. I'm sure I could have stayed with my Boston RM6's that although are ~10yrs old, were rarely used and still sound great, but I needed to have the additional RMS wattage that the Alpine PDX-5 puts out and these handle the power perfectly.
The only reason for my 4 stars is that I'm unsure how these would perform as front speakers.
These are very high quailty. Smooth solid. Worth the money., April 11, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Boston Acoustics SR65 - Car speaker - 75 Watt - 2-way - coaxial - 6.5" (Electronics) I have had the Boston SC's (one step down) from this model in my car for ages. I replaced two Infinity 6.5 components in the front doors with these. They are rock solid. I only wanted to buy Boston because they have been known to build a very good speaker, they don't know how to build one that is less that great quality.
I am going to buy a second set to put in the rear deck of my 2 seater. They sound very good. Very smooth and high end tweet sounds quality, does not sound cheap. These I am sure out do most other brands in this class of speaker/price range I'm sure - as long as they are installed correctly.
I was able however to install using the rings included and get them set correctly. Highly recommend buying a pair of those baffles that you can use to protect it. It also helps keep the sound (if installing them in the doors) in the car. Great mid bass sound. Adding a sub would make these shine even more - but you don't need one.
The only CON is... Read more
